Designed and developed in collaboration with the contractor, this custom staircase was built for a private client seeking a structural yet airy centerpiece for their Tribeca duplex. The project presented challenges from the outset, most notably hoisting solid steel stringer elements from Franklin Street up to a 10th-floor window, where they were precisely reconnected by on-site welding and refinishing. Slumped glass guardrails, carefully shaped to follow the curvature of the stringers, added another layer of complexity. Custom laminated glass treads complete the design, reinforcing its signature transparency.
